These glass beads have been individually handmade in Europe using ancient techniques that were common to the Rus Viking peoples.

Every single bead is unique. Some are similar but no two are the same.

They are packaged in sets of 5 and grouped in similar colours. They are sold "as is" and cannot be mixed and matched. Please indicate the approximate colour preference prior to purchasing.

Beads are one of the most common items found in pre-Christian Viking graves. Making beads by hand is extremely labor-intensive so beads were valuable and expensive. Beads were passed down to younger relatives, gathered up during raids, and eagerly purchased at the great market towns such as Haithabu (Hedeby).
