A Chain distributor or bead distributor from the Viking Age. This chain distributor in the shape of a snake was modelled on a historical bead distributor from the Viking Age. Chain distributors are often found in the graves of the Viking Age, especially in eastern Sweden and on Gotland as well as in the Baltic States. Various forms of such bead distributors are known.
Besides the function of distributing several chains on the chest, chain distributors could also be used to hold one or more ribbons or chains and to attach a decorative jewellery set there.
This is for a single distributor.
