This helmet is inspired by the iconic Valsgarde 6 helm, one of the many helms found in the Valsgarde ship burial site. The original helmet is of an intricate lattice work pattern, being unique in the sense that it only partially covered the top of the head, and features a different spectacle helm face guard.

This recreation is not a lattice construction, but fully enclosed. However, the design of the lattice is reflected in the brass decorations as they are a recreation of the look of the original.

Constructed of 16 gauge steel, featuring a decorated face mask, brow band and trim, alongside a butted maille aventail, the Valsgarde helmet is perfect for collectors and re-enactors interested in the Viking and Vendel periods.
