This particular ring pommel sword is most reminiscent of a Type XIV in the Oakeshotte morphology of swords. These types of swords would be typical from the late 13thC to mid 14thC. It's said that from 1290 to 1330, the most common form of sword was this one, making it perfect for any knights or medieval warriors. The sword features a tapering width blade and a strong mid rib, with a wheel pommel and upturned quillions classic to the Type XIV swords. The wheel pommel has been hollowed to form a ring for decorative purposes, and quatrefoils have been stamped out in the cross guard flanges.

The grip is wooden with leather wrap, and the scabbard is wooden with leather cover.

This sword is battle ready, the carbon steel blade possessing a rounded tip and 1.5 mm thick edges, making it suitable for re-enactment combat straight away.
