These were originally developed for Xtreme sports, however, we have tested them and found them suitable as a cheap form of hand protection when learning sword work with waster or shinai.
The hard plastic and rubber backing is dense and will protect the rear knuckles from blunt force. We find the finger tips are a little exposed, if when you hold a weapon you tuck the finger tips into the palm then it wont be a problem for you.
