A necklace with animal heads and a cloisonné pendant. That beautiful Medieval leather necklace has decorative end caps in the shape of cute weasel heads in the style of the Viking Era, connected by a small ring in their mouth.

Animal heads used as end caps for chains and bracelets are not an invention of the modern times, but already known from several sites from the cultural area of the Middle Ages. The original pendant was made in cloisonné technique and dates to the period 600-650 AD, the Anglo-Saxon Merovingian era. It was made of pure gold with glass and garnet inserts.

The pendant was found at King's Field near Faversham in Kent, England, a place where the Anglo-Saxon kingship had been present for many centuries. The pendant is owned today by the British Museum in London.

The 3 mm wide brown leather cord is 60 cm long and should reach to the chest.
