Round pommels, also called disc pommels were extremely common pommels in knightly swords from the 11th to 16th centuries. The originated during the Viking period and remained in use until around 1380 in Italy and Spain. Round pommels came in all shapes and sizes, this one in particular features stylish inset dome, giving it a leg up over the plainer flat disc pommels.

Pre-made hilt furniture like this is the perfect thing for those that are either making swords from scratch or repairing well-worn beaters, all the way to seasoned blacksmiths looking to save time and improve margins. Fitting sword furniture like this is a simple but rewarding process, provided you have at least a little bit of time, effort, and know-how.
