Bird of prey, Viking ornament matching pair of left and right - cast from brass.
This Bird of Prey pair, or Odin's birds (Huginn and Muninn), have been based on a a pair of actual bird of prey ornaments from a riding harness from the 7thC finds in Gotland, Sweden. Also similar to those found in the 7thC Sutton Hoo grave finds.
Supplied with 5 pins (rivets) attached to the back which can be peened down on to your equipment or nailed directly into a shield.
This ornament is 45mm tall and 25mm wide weighs 9g each.

Also I hammered it down so that it is facing upwards towards the sky, as though the eagles will fly over my house and protect it.
I recommend this ornament.//

It's got a bit of weight to it, it's polished well, and it gives off a warm gold shine.
Best of all, it was easy to apply to my Norse Belt that I bought as well, and it really does add to the overal look!
