A decorative arming sword is a type of single-handed, double edged straight sword commonly used in Europe during the high to late middle ages, roughly from the 11th until the 15th centuries. It typically features a cruciform hilt and blade around 70 to 80 cm in length. This particular sword features a swept upturned cross guard with decorative etchings and a scent-stopper pommel, so-called as it resembles the tops of perfume bottles. The grip is timber wrapped in white suede, and the point is also rounded off according to re-enactment standards allowing you to use this sword in combat without modification needed.
A unique sword for re-enactors, WMA practitioners and collectors looking to gain an edge on the battlefield.
Please note: the suede on this handle is white and so may not be pristine upon unboxing.
