If you're after a tankard to drink out of instead of a horn this is the container for you. It easily holds at least a large 440 can of ale allowing you to top up if you want. The tankard that arrived is a lot nicer than the one pictured on the website. Not sure if this counts for combat but after several drinks my friend stuck out his leg and tripped me over and I went barreling into the table next to us and I hit a fellow on the side of his head causing his ear to swell without causing any damage to the tankard. Am considering attaching it to my sword belt as a back up weapon lol. Seriously though this is very comfortable to hold with the handle and nice to look at and drink out of and stands out at my medieval feasts whilst holding more than enough liquid to allow you to drink steadily but responsibly. (Or not ^_^)
