Love the Writhen Hilt Sword? Now you can make your own with this DIY component kit for the awesome hilt of the iconic 15thC German sword!

A beautiful and intricate hand and a half sword from 15thC Germany, the Writhen Hilt Sword is an artful diamond in the utilitarian rough of comparable contemporaneous weaponry. The wooden grip, carved to evoke gnarled vines, flows into a similarly twisted brass pommel and quillions that splay in triplicate at each terminal.

The original piece is on display at the Leeds Royal Armouries, in England. A wonderful addition to any re-enactor's arsenal or personal collection, the Writhen Hilt Sword is technically a German bastard sword, yes, but it is also a work of art. Display it proudly above the mantle, or hang it at your hip.

Please note: this is a DIY component set, not a plug-and-play part. Fitting, adjustment, and skill will be required to properly mount it onto a blade. This kit is perfect for historical weapon restorations, re-enactment gear, or projects where authenticity and craftsmanship matter.
