This belt buckle is based upon a unique historic design hailing from c.1450 Scandinavia. The buckle, square in shape, is inscribed with the phrase "help ghot un maria nu altit" meaning "God and Mary always be our help". The name of the buckle, King Erik, comes from the crown design that splits the word 'help' in two. This crown resembles the one on King Erik of Pomerania's (despite the name he was King of Denmark, Sweden, and Norway) coins minted during his reign, hence the association. This belt buckle unfortunately did not belong to the King himself, and was found in the late 18thC and donated to the Museum of Northern Antiquities in Denmark.

I got belt-ed... Reasonble price, very stylish, well built, medieval.
I for one, am glad I purchased this belt, indeed it was one of my first purchases, and it's held up everything from mail to pants.
It just looks so good, and this can be made even better, as it can be customised with all sorts of rivets and such.
