This Viking boss was recreated from an archaeological find in the remains of a Scandinavian funeral boat.
The original piece comes from Groix island, off Lorient (FRANCE), discovered in 1906 and it's dated to the Xth century.
A similar umbo was found at Telemark County (Norwegian: Telemark fylkeskommune), the original is exhibited at Museum of Cultural History in Oslo (Norway).
