A close helmet, or armet, is a type of helmet used by Knights and other men-at-arms during the Late Medieval to Renaissance period. It typically revolves around a single pivot point, with visor, bevor and an opening and closing around it. The visor can lift up when needed, and the bevor opens and closes for ease of equipping. An armet would do all this, but have cheek flaps that open and shut independently.
This close helmet is of a jousting style, with a double bevor (two separate plates on the neck) and single pointed visor. It also features several holes in the face plate for improved air flow and vision, and a barred visor covering the top part of the face. It is lined with an adjustable leather cap, making it fit many head sizes, and comes with an internal chin strap to secure it onto your head.
The helmet is made entirely of 16 gauge mild steel.
