Roman Imperial Helmets were the standard issue, mass produced helmet patterns used by the Roman Imperial legions during their active years. They had several types, from Gallic to Italic, each with their own sub-types depending on the time of production. They originated from a basic "skullcap" type helmet, the Coolus Helm, and then evolved to include cheek flaps, crest mounts, neck guards and decorative flourishes.

This helmet in particular is a Gallic Type I, in brass. It is based off of a find from Mainz along the Rhine river, dated from
71 to 86 AD, and so is sometimes also called the Gallic I Mainz helmet. It differs only slightly from Type H, in the sense that it basically retains the same design and look, but this time being forged in brass (orichalcum), having feather attachment points and a "twist on" crest mount. These features seem to indicate that this type of helmet was reserved for soldiers of rank, such as an optio.

This helmet is a recreation of the Type I, is made from brass, featuring several crest mounting hooks and feather points. It also comes with a padded arming cap.
It does not come with a crest or feathers. This is a helmet only.

The helmet is ideal for distinguishing yourself as an officer on the field. (For better or worse.)
