This Viking pendant with the depiction of two entwined dragons was made after the motif of a rune stone from the Viking Age. The historical model for this Viking pendant comes from the rune stone of Ardre, which stands near the church of Ardre on Gotland.
The rune stone from Ardre also dates from the 11th or 12th century and at 72 cm is rather small and has the design typical of Gothic image stones. The dragon depiction on the rune stone, however, is based on the mainland Swedish Urnes style, with the entwined animals representing a Gothic variant.
A 1 metre long black leather strap comes with the pendant.
