The billhook (also bill hook or voulge) was a traditionally developed for the cutting tool which was used mainly in European agriculture and forestry, but also common in other parts of the world where it was introduced by European settlers. It is used for cutting smaller woody material such as shrubs and branches.
As a pole-arm weapon it became a multipurpose tool and was very efficient in dispatching a mounted knight.
