The sallet is a stape helmet from 15thC Europe, in particular Germany and Italy. This sallet is based off of a German style, denoted by the iconic flute at the back, and was basically the universal helmet of German soldiers in this period. This helmet features only a minimal flair: a brass layer above the crest. Not too much, but enough to show your distinguished side. This sallet also comes with two faceplates, a barred version for SCA combat and a steel mesh version for combat archery. Both hook into a slot at the forehead and are secured via a leather strap.
