The Yarm helmet is a 10th-century Viking Age Anglo-Scandinavian helmet. So called as it was found in Yarm in Yorkshire, England. The Yarm helmet is one of only five helmets types yet uncovered from the Viking Age, and is the first from the Danelaw.
It features the iconic "spectacles" of all ocular helmets, alongside a distinctive nose ridge and "knop", the round protrusion atop the helmet. The Yarm helmet also has a brow band pierced with holes, allowing for the attachment of a maille aventail. This is consistent with the original find.
This helmet is made of 16ga carbon steel, and comes with a chin strap and interior leather webbing for height adjustment.
This is an excellent battle ready recreation of a true Viking era helmet, perfect for re-enactors, WMA or LARP.
