Perfect for metal weapons combat. I didn't seem to have the same problem as other reviews. I bought the extra padding and they are snug and cover all the important areas for steel combat. I must admit at first I didn't think they were going to be as good as they truly are but when mine fall apart I will buy more because at this price it is better value than rebuilding them.

Very good quality. Great value for money have taken a beating with only one strap repair

mmmmm, nice :) Looks like I will have the same issues as listed below. They will need alteration to fit the individual wearer but that is to be expected.
Padding or gloves are a needed but overall pretty good, fair range of movement and no gaps between the lames at full clench.
Needs to be altered to fit with my arm armour but fits well in my shield.

Not bad. Not great These gauntlets are not bad, I had some of the same issues mentioned in the previous review, I also found the need to add a wrist cuff and extra hand strap. My problem with them was the quality of the leather straps left much to be desired and shape edges in the articulation cutting into them. Had them for a year of use in both SCA and metal weapon fighting and after replacing the straps and smoothing the edges have had no problems.

Note from MFC: now using better leather with a better finish.

sca review as a sca fighter in rowany lochac. i found the gauntlets needed some adjustments.my hands (average sized)couldnt get deep enough into the gauntlets so i cut the straps back a bit, the finger strap was too loose so i tightened it by cutting the leather and re stiching it tigher. the gauntlets did not also cover the points of the wrist completely and so instead of being the metal which i thought may ruin articulation i made cuffs to wear beneath the gauntlets over my wrists. other wise they are fine+nice and shiny
